THE MOUSE
In the corner of the room,
A little mouse will come out soon,
By day asleep at night awake,
Up to mischief make no mistake..
A little hole that’s in the wall,
Is where he lives and he’s no fool,
The trap we set for weeks on end,
But that crafty mouse became a friend.
Each night before we go to bed,
We leave him cheese to eat instead,
A little saucer on the floor,
Filled with water to wash his paws.
Sometimes in the night of day,
We’ll hear him scamper on his way,
At night he plays inside the walls,
Then falls asleep worn out at dawn.
So if you find inside your house,
A tiny hole where sound comes out,
Be sure to put the saucer down,
Your bound to have a mouse around.
