LITTLE DANA JANE'T
When I heard the news,
My heart filled with pain;
As a matter of fact,
It nearly drove me insane;
I'd educated this little lady,
Talked with her every single day;
Now all that didn't matter,
Cause a baby was on the way;
There were family and friends,
Even neighbors to face;
Existence of this fetus
We simply couldn't erase;
After hours of deep thought,
I let out a deep sigh,
Determined to support my girl
And keep our heads held high;
News of the pregnancy
Quickly spread through town,
As the months crept by
We sometimes felt down;
One day on the front porch
Her water suddenly broke,
I knew I had to hurry,
Couldn't be a slow-poke;
Nine months of stress and worry
Had come to an end,
Holding Dana Jane't in her arms,
Her mother knew I was her friend;
All the negative feelings
I'd been carrying inside,
Were replaced like magic
With love and pride.
When I heard the news,
My heart filled with pain;
As a matter of fact,
It nearly drove me insane;
I'd educated this little lady,
Talked with her every single day;
Now all that didn't matter,

Determined to support my girl
And keep our heads held high;
