Heaven Has~ *My Sister*~To My Beloved Sister; Vicky LaVerne Whitehead Feb.19,1954~July 29,1976 I decided to open a childhood memories door. My sister and I had some good times, for sure. We'd feel we were rich if we only had a dime. We'd run to the corner store and buy frito's and a small sack full of penny candy and gum. We were taught to share,so we'd all get some. We shared a room, and even shared our clothes. We loved to play house...and aggrevate our brothers. Lord knows they did their share of tormenting us! We also loved to make mud pies, with our twin friends ..Bonita and Donita. We tried to sale the pies but never could, so we gave up. Our friends, and us would play red rover, It was fun until one of the boys were sent over. Us girls loved to play hopscotch, jumprope, and do summer salz, and cartwheels. My sister always gave us a thrill, For she was the queen of doing cartwheels. We also loved to see who could swing the highest and then jump out, Alot of fun until our Mama gave us a shout! When we got closer to being teens our Mama would let us go to the movie theater on Fridays. We all had chores to do through the week to pay our own way in. In the summer we would all go swimming, We all could swim like fish,so we'd have races and who ever was last we called a rotten egg. I sure wish I could turn back time, Perhaps I could have recorded more events to now look back on. Little did we know that your life would've been cut short. I'm thankful for the memories I have. I just wish there were new ones, but most of all... I wish you were still here with me. A blood clot on the heart took you at age twenty two. I love you Sissy, and I am still missing you! At least on your birthdays, our Mama is there with you. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
