 God's Love Through Poetry

A Song In The Night


In this life of struggle
if there's nothing more to cling
let your precious words of song
raise a voice to sing.

So when my mind rages war
bring to me a song in the night
show your favor upon me to
overcome life's battled fight.

May the soft melody of words
ring familiarly crisp and clear
and with each noted tune whisper
a sound of peace upon my ear.

Let this precious gift of confort
always stay close to heart
and the meaning of your song
never within me depart.
