CHILDHOOD
Tender the heart of a child,
Innocents beyond compare,
Free as a bird in flight,
Candy floss dreams at night.
A bed that's a car racing fast,
Pillows of lace fluffy clouds,
Mud looks like chocolate delight,
All in the mind of a child.
In the bath an ocean unseen,
Full of pirates cut throats galore,
Divers diving for pearls,
Water covers the floor.
The sofa an island of safety,
From sharks there on the ground,
God blimey that's not a shark,
It's my brother creeping around.
The garden a world full of wonder,
Where children play all day long,
A paradise land soon forgotten,
As we grow and our childhood has gone.
