I’ve heard this said a thousand times,
Each time it’s said things come to mind,
Do I don’t I go this way if I do what will they say,
If I’m wrong where will I be what road best for me to see?
Many times I’ve turned away people saying better stay,
Now this time has come again, twisting thoughts inside again.
If I stay, what have I got? I could just have lost the lot,
If I go a chance I take it could be a big mistake.
A job that’s offered near the same better money better game,
This time I’m going to take the road forget the saying here of old,
For some times the devil that we’ve got, fills our life full of rot,
So this time I am changing roads, leaving the devil that I know.
Nerves I have a brand new start, I just hope that it will last,
If things turn out wrong there’ll laugh and say you should have known,
We’ve told you once and twice before, then they all lay down the law,
Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t.
The tune behind this write is the same for every one,
For if you stay all the time you maybe loosing fun,
A life of better prospects, just walk out the door,
You have to go and try it or you’ll never know for sure.
