No wheels on his wagon!
They pinched them outside the pub!
And oh cor blimey and sugar plumbs,
They even took his grub!
He came outside to trundle home,
In the wagon that he so adores,
Silly man that he is of course,
But they even took his doors!
So there he is in the middle of the road,
No way of getting home,
And what about his wagon!
He was feeling so alone!
He sat and cried on the pavement,
Sighing; ‘Oh woe is me!'
He didn't know what to do…
He was so upset you see.
Then some people came out of the pub,
And helped poor Charlie up with care,
Cos he was really old and frail,
And it really wasn't fair!
So they all put their hands in their pockets,
And collected so much dosh,
Enough to replace all the bits and bobs,
But instead, they bought a new wagon so posh!
So there he was that night,
Beaming a great bright hue!
And all cos his mates at the pub,
Knew exactly what to do!
