I Saw Love

In the early peak of morning
Sunlight invading dreams in my head
A new day now was dawning
So I arose from my bed

My eyes fixed upon a vision
More glorious then any mortal eye behold
My gaze was locked there upon it
And it touched my aching soul

Seeing red as amber burning
I try to touch with shaken hand
For this image holds me yearning
I am at its will and its command

I know this image is destined now
Yet this mystery lay untold
I bask in its shimmering glory
Feeling at last like I am whole

Could I have seen an angel
A messenger sent from heaven above
Yet I recognize this image before me
And I know now that I saw love
