Enter the room so cold and damp,
The putrid smell of death devours,
Mist field floors hinder your tread,
One false move, you could be dead.
Across the hall the stairwell climbs,
Flickering candle reflects on walls,
Moving upwards into the unknown,
Beckoned on by shadows of the night.
Intrigued following the forward motion,
Feelings now intrepid of the moment,
Carry onward and upward to the high,
Bright light surrounds engulfing all intakes.
Within the light a sudden purity of love,
Behold for there before stands one man,
He who knows all and more beyond,
The pains of life eroded from the soul.
But alas the time is wrong the light fades,
Left alone with only the knowledge of this,
Life is and there fore can never die,
Only the vessel that carries the soul stays behind.
When your time comes the light will return,
On this day you will walk through to open arms,
In the fathers house you will live forever more,
In peace pain free loved by one and all.
