 God's Love Through Poetry

A Bridge Of Love


Sin wedged an ugly entrance
then came in and stole
what was most precious
between God and the human soul.

Jesus measuring infinitely
knew what was vastly needed
so He fashioned a cross, and
drug it to be completed.

He laid the wood as a bridge
as we drove in the nails
sacrificing himself humbly
with love that could not fail.

He gave back to the world
what satan aimed to destroy
for with this bridge of love
He bought back peace and joy.
