The Lullaby

I look over the horizon,
And see a ray of light,
The water shimmers brightly,
All day and night.
I look at the waves,
And see your face.
As sweet as the doves,
Singing lullaby's to our grace.
I want to reach to you,
To pull you ashore.
But you aren't there,
Like before.
I know we are miles apart,
And both have a very huge heart.
But there are days,
That I miss you.
You understand,
Like no one else does,
I want you to know,
I couldn't have a better friend.
So when we meet that very day,
Cherish that moment,
while it's there,
Cause it may be a while,
Till I can see you again.
So long until the next time,
My sweet friend.
