I'm a Red Hatter! Now that I’m old, seventies, that being. I answer to no one, cater to no one, liste to no one… you see! Stubborn I am and stubborn I’ll be. And those who don’t like me can swing from their own damn opinion tree. I like being me, stubborn as can be. A Red Hatter I was, a Red Hatter I am and a Red Hatter…I’ll always be! And in my purple dress I’ll sing in the sunshine and dance in the rain. Now they may call me an old woman, half insane and that's all right. For I know who I am, and Life’s too short to play their silly game. Jackie R. Kays Copyright…2004 Vote for this poem
