Hymn To The Night (Translation-Spanish)

Translated from the spanish of Lope De Vega's Hymno A La Noche

O night! The lying temptress of the sky,
Cimmerian lady lunacy! You who
Show flattened mountains and a sea run dry
To any fool who would delight in you.

Dweller of shelled-out skull and hollow head
Alchemist, thinker, worker of the tomb,
Vile darkener and sightless lynx, you dread
Your very echos sounding through your gloom.

Terror, sick dark and fear are in your number,
Poetess, cautious, cold, and gnarled away,
Grim hoodlum's hands and feet of fugitive!

My life's half yours, awake or yet in slumber
If I'm awake, I pay for it with day,
And if asleep, I cannot really live.

Original

Noche, fabricadora de embelecos,
loca, imaginativa, quimerista,
los montes llanos y los mares secos;
