Poetic-Verses
You'll Occupy a Special Place in my Heart
You were the second place where I feel I belong,
In your open arms I feel the love and acceptance;
I was gratefully glad reaching your peak
after a long separation,
You mend my broken heart
which was severely wounded by a deceiver.
I reached sundry rendezvous far and wide, Baguio,
And encountered a lot of people
who were mendacious and folly;
But yours is a haven I can call my very own,
A paradise, a heaven, an ideal somewhere to live in.
My heart is audibly crying
because you were harmed and destroyed,
My mind is crazy in full pity of what transpired in you;
You were once the most beautiful
and the famous of all the cities,
But look…you are now slowly dying, o Baguio!
Please stand still,
don’t be a coward at these trying times,
Be brave to face the earth’s tremor
and apprehensions;
Do not be dismayed nor be gloomy of the outcome,
Go on waving your eminence and your pride.
I know I can’t do nothing
to preserve your all-out beauty,
No one can even restore the esteem you once held
among the people of the world;
But I for sure would humbly ask Him
to let you stand still despite what happened,
I’m thankful to you, Baguio, for giving me
happy memories to hold on as I go on living!
“PROMISE, I WON’T LEAVE YOU
‘THOUGH TREMBLORS ATTACK AGAIN,
COME WHAT MAY, I’LL REMAIN ON THE GROUND
STANDING BY YOU…!”
