Ren's Pen

Fate

The day he got out of prison,
He gave thanks to the one who had risen,
Praying to have children and a wife,
He had been a single man all his life.

He and his pastor took a long ride,
So he could be married to his bride,
There were children involved,
Yet, he still married her after all.

He tries to live right and do what is good,
Only wants to provide shelter and food,
Even though he does not own a car,
He will walk, no matter how far.

He tries to survive to make ends meet,
His heart is never filled with deceit,
He tries to be satisfied and content,
Just trying to pay the monthly rent.

Many say to him that money talks,
And anything else walks,
His only plan is to succeed,
Trying to provide for his family's need.

He seems to never get ahead,
Just trying to keep his children fed,
He is very caring and has a big heart,
His wife seen this from the start.

His bills pile up and are all due,
He keeps them paid so he dont sue,
He reaches out to the needy on the street,
He is the sweetest man you could ever meet.

He will work for penny or even a dime,
He always seems to have the time,
He teaches his children the golden rule,
And also takes time to homeschool.

They have been married for a few years,
Together shedding many tears,
His wife loves him and is his help mate,
At times, she wonders, does he know this is his fate?
