A Man in Need #184
You come home drunk at night, I have no escape from your verbal abuses, dominant anger, and rape. You say that you're sorry, I believe that you'll change while our relationship becomes even more estranged. You can't see the tears I cry and the scars I bleed, perhaps you don't realize... There's a man in need. Restraining your presence from out of our lives there isn't a day when the police don't arrive. Our children watch inside as you put up a fuss, they ask me always, “Why can't you live here with us?” They do not understand the pain our lives have to lead, they can't comprehend... There's a man in need. Many years have passed since you left us alone as your memory fades, our children have grown. I raised them up in faith so they too would believe in God's miracle of life and a new life received. We pray for you daily that you will be freed and come to understand... There's a man in need. -Lighthouse Bob |
