So Close
i triumph in the others' loss,
i squeeze all the life out,
then i return to the beginning,
but this time, i'm without.
i reach for the stars,
then i reach too far,
and my searching increases,
inside the stars.
i grasp onto my life support,
my internal limbs,
i hold onto my heart,
which in my blood, swims.
i sit in my own misery,
wishing i could sink in,
below the rules, below time,
let the sinking begin.
i bleed my life out,
empty like a sponge,
then i wipe clean,
my slime and grunge.
i taste life and death,
not in that order,
the two so close,
with such a thin border.
So Close
