Doctor's OfficeSitting in the doctor's office all alone Mind jumping back and fourth Wondering what's wrong. Friendly faces all oblique Though the same all unique. Name called heart skips a beat Scrambling for belongings Before standing upon two feet. All eyes focused - keep mind at ease Breath in breath out oh no! - a sneeze Follow the name caller- through the open door Take step up and then down Then hear blah blah blah thirty four High upon the cold table quietly sit and wait Door opens door closes curtain drawn Smiling doctor says you have a clean slate. 02/04/2004 Vote for this poem
