My Dog Tootchie

(Beloved Pet) Lost To Kidney Failure June 7th 2003
Sleep eludes my crowded brow, as tears run down my cheeks.
A love of mine is far from me now, as I begin to grieve.
No longer can I hear her breath, or listen to the softness of her heart beat.
No longer can I feel her close upon my arm, as she did sleep.
Upon her waking she did turn, her loving nose to me, and woke me gently every morn; with a kiss upon my cheek.
I feel as if my life is done with my heart beneath my feet.
It lay there shattered and forlorn, my life is incomplete.
My beloved puppy is no more, and forever more I'll weep.
That hint of guilt will haunt me now, and make me think defeat.
I'll feel her presence now and then, as the little reminders of her love show gently here and there.
My eyes do hunger deeply now, because they can not sleep.
My heart is broken, My Love is gone, My mind awash with grief.
Good bye my beloved Tootchie, for some day again we will meet.
