Little Things

We are as different as two people can be
You liked things that I did not
You did things that I would never do,
Yet I did not think the day would come
When I would not see your radiant smile
Or hear your gentle voice,
I miss those special days
When it was just the two of us,
I miss hearing your voice
And stories of days gone by,
I miss the way your eyes would light up
When I made you laugh,
We had our little secrets
We did not want to share
We had our little moments
When we would both despair,
And yet I would not trade one minute with you
As short as it has been
For I know one moment with you
Will leave me with a lifetime of memories,
And whenever I think of you
I will always wear a smile
