At Age Sixteen I Helped My Dad;
We Cut A Path For The Fence We Had!
I Put My Hands Upon An Alder;
To Steady It So It Could Falter!
As Dad Used The Brush Cutter;
He Hit A Knot Within The Wood!
The Blade Bounced Out, and Caught My Knee;
Unto My Eyes Did Blood I See!
I Fell To Earth Without A Sound;
My Color Fading As I Found!
I Cried To God To Help Me Then;
That Is When The Snow Began!
It Slowed My Bleeding To A Crawl;
As I Laid There Waiting For Dad To Call!
Then Even Though The Cold Was Strong;
I Heard The Brightest Angels Song!
It's Not Your Time She Said To Me;
There Work On Earth God Has Set For Thee!
Thus I Feel Asleep, Felt No Pain: God Had Saved Me!
