An English Spring

It's spring now in the UK
And that cold winters chill has gone away
The parasite that hibernated in my heart this winter
Has not succeeded in making me hatful and bitter
To be free of winters savageness
Has only succeeded in bringing me happiness
I had built a snowman
And created out of my mind the perfect woman
The cold dark spells of winter
Had preserved her
But as spring battled hard to regain my soul
The first drips of water fell to the soil
A battle enraged within my heart
Between good and evil witchcraft
My friends that stood like great oak trees
Spread their love like a summer breeze
Spring had arrived
And all that I believed in had died
Within winters bleakest heart she knows she lied
The English air and smell of pollen
Has refreshed that smell of something rotten
