Forever Drawn

Upon a bed of grass I lay
Comfort found in evergreen
My thoughts drift again away
As I hear a soft song calling me

My heart begins its familiar flight
Hand in hand with my tender soul
Down a twisting sandy lane
They venture now so slow

Stopping to dance in magnolias
Stirring dust upon the hill
Heading to paintings in distant sky
They are drawn beyond their will

Beyond the blue-green of the bayou
To the whites of yonder shore
Fear not they shall never lose their way
For they have traveled this path before

So as I slowly wake from dream
Darkest night flees to the dawn
But my heart and soul still travel now
For they are forever drawn
