Walk This Way…!

My right side is shorter than the left,
What a funny sight!
And my friend Lizzy is the opposite,
Her left is shorter than her right!

So I was altering her trousers,
And of course I take into account her plight,
And shorten the legs accordingly,
Making sure her longest leg is her right!

Well, after 7 pairs of alterations,
I have to admit to all…
I got all in a lather and all betwixed,
And made the longer leg much too small!

You see, we have opposite odds and evens,
And when I was shortening the shorter side,
I turned them inside out to chop…
And chopped the wrong leg, so lost my pride!

I told her if she wore them back to front,
Then she would be sorted out,
Her hip-hop walk would be ok,
Of that there was no doubt!

Then again I told her quite innocently,
She could give those trousers to me,
And they would fit my hip-hop walk,
Cos then the legs would be perfect you see!

We laughed we did, it was so much fun,
And at the end of the day…!
I sorted them out, and made them fit,
And everything was finally ok!

So 7 pairs of trousers later,
They all marched on home,
I had a headache I was all a lather!
So I settled down once finally alone!

My back was really breaking,
And my poor old head was sore,
I needed a break, for sanities sake,
Because I couldn't take any more!

So here I am at midnight!
Chilling out at last, ready for sleep…
And as I serenely succumb to slumber…!
Oblivion and rest will start to creep!

We walk the walk, we understand!
And we support each other at length,
But Liz, next time you need some alterations…
Ask for guidance for me and some strength!

For it's a lot of head work,
Of that there is no doubt!
So next time you need some sewing done…
Don't give me a shout!!!!
