Poetic Verses

Always Will

In ornate mausoleums
in granite gravestones etched
time is marked by dates
of living time kept

Remembering with flowers
for those of whom I care
a living celebration
to family members there

and in my mind so clearly
I see the faces every one
and all the times we've shared
before the life was done

I whisper, to them, all the news
wind answers in reply
I tell them that I miss them
and then I start to cry

I weep for all the times they've missed
celebrations they can't share
events that fill the lives of those
who really need them there

A chill suddenly fills the air
and time stands, briefly, still
I sense them standing by my side
and I know I always will

8/2/02 For all of my deceased family especially my Mom and Dad Mary and Patsy Munno
