Down Mt. Zhongnan (Translation-Chinese)

Down the blue mountain, into evening's dale,
Escorted homeward by the beaming moon.
At times I looked back, just to see my trail
Sink into layers of gloom and darken soon.
I passed the farm then of a friend I knew,
Heard children call me from a gate of thorn.
They led me by the arm through jade bamboo
That caught my clothing, left it ripped and torn,
So glad! So glad I was to loll in peace,
So glad to drink to goodness with my friend,
We sang a song of wind among the trees
With starlight our song faded to its end.
As I lay drunk, and she in bliss, then we
Forgot the world, and reeled in ecstasy.
