Let Me Sleep Tonight.
Verse 1
Every night when I can`t sleep
My heart is sore I lie and weep
When by chance I go to dreams
Reality my dreaming seems.
Chorus.
Oh dear God let me sleep tonight
For while I sleep I hold him tight.
Just for a while he`s mine again
Until the morn I feel no pain.
Verse 2
I see him smile so tenderly
Loving eyes are all I see
While mine are closed I hold him near
Then awake and shed a tear.
Chorus.
Verse 3
I know that I must say goodbye
Let him go, try not to cry.
Oh dear God let me sleep tonight
Just once more to hold him tight.
