Thirteen Ways of Looking at Light
SultryRose's Signatures
Black widow slides
on gold beams of moonlight,
stringy dewdop chutes.
Boudouir glows garnet
red like her thin negligee'
and ruby toe rings.
Operating room light
glares white against tape-closed eyes,
artificial tears.
End of the tunnel:
soul shimmers in surreal light.
Earth's gravity pulls.
Rainbow prisms gleam
from tainted diamond ring,
blind faith in true love.
On Fourth of July,
sparks rain on watermelon
forgotten on plates.
Pupils reactive,
three millimeters pinpoint
dilation to light.
His headlights pinned her
against the tree's shadowy arms
breathing in and out.
Ethereal candles
float in lily-shaped votives
framed by smooth crystals.
Funky divas dance.
Strobe lights accent bare midriffs,
sparkling belly jewels.
Lighthouses beckon
sleepy captains at the helm
with phallic symbols.
Lemon grasses blaze
consumed by runaway fires,
still undetected.
Lights--soft or glaring,
concealing or probing us
in private moments.
