BE GENTLE
This heart this body this soul,
My mind my life growing old,
Be gentle with me these days,
As I waddle about in my ways.
Growing old it is not much fun,
Things slow down start going wrong,
But the feelings I still have inside,
I still hurt as my body declines.
Be kind to us oldies you see,
Patients its all that I ask,
The body slows down day by day,
We can’t always move very fast.
The memory dithers and dallies,
Some times it want work at all,
Be assured we know it’s frustrating,
Those feelings of not being sure.
Time catches up to us all,
One day you will see when you’re here,
So please whilst you’re able minds stable,
Be gentle in our older years.
