Pearly Gates WelcomeThere was a man, who was not all he ought, Some bad problems in life he even thought; When he passed away his life on this earth, Worried of not getting in upon his rebirth; Very concerned about at the Pearly Gate, Certain that St. Peter does not negotiate; When getting there he was really amazed, St. Peter stood welcoming with arms raised; He asked St. Peter if there was a mistake, Being ashamed of some errors were at stake; St. Peter chuckled as he began to reply, "No, it's not a mistake and need no alibi; No records are being kept for our review, That is why we are warmly welcoming you;" The man was so overjoyed and relieved, Then he saw Bill Clinton who grieved; He turned to St. Peter and asked him, "Why would the President look so grim?" St. Peter just smiled as he replied, "He spent a week confessing why he lied." Richard Newton Sherrer Copyright ©2004 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
