Listen To MeA Poem from the novel "The Essence of Poetry: Gerald's Initial Book of Poems" Written by: Gerald L. Ingraham She has been in love and so have I. It is vague because hers has been returned And no one will give one to this guy. If there is something new I have learned It's that I am a loner in this world Of instant love and great passion, Because I have prayed for a lovely girl. I am still without one so saddened. I speak softly and clear, Listen to me. I speak boldly without fear, Listen to me. Listen to me. I have no comtempt for society. Yet, I have urges to be against it. To someday experience love by variety, When the time comes I may not be lovesick. I may perhaps be unamazed With the strong, yet habitual term in love. I would not be as a crazed, Because I will be jaded of this just enough. I pray solemnly and stern, Listen to me. I pray truthfully with earn, Listen to me. Listen to me. I am just seventeen years of age With dreams of love so impossible. As my emotions trigger an outrage, My courtship for love becomes hostile. But I am only a babe in the world so wide. If you ask me about love, I can only tell you what I feel inside, Because right now that all I dream of. I dream mistically and surreal, Listen to me. I dream only about what I feel, Listen to me. Listen to me. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
