The True Me

A Poem from the novel
"The Essence of Poetry: Gerald's Initial Book of Poems"
Written by: Gerald L. Ingraham

From where did I come?
To where will I go?
My instinct tells me
That I will never know.
Why is my mind idly lazy?
Am I lost in your stare
Or could I be crazy?
Do I deserve this?
To be hurten and caught up
With a heart torn to bits
And had never shared my love?

Am I heartbroken truly?
Am I in another phase
Or have I found the true me?

How come my life a maze?
