Safe Harbor

As I see the world around me begin to change
I cannot help feeling great sorrow
I know this change can only bring sadness
And to some
There is no light for tomorrow,
As I search deep within myself
I can see clearly without pause
For some of us there is no safe harbor
Where we can rest our weary bodies
And soothe our battered souls,
And as time passes
And the dawn brings a brand new day
We search for warmth and comfort
But are sure there is no way,
While the hands of the clock move slowly with time
The light ahead does not always shine,
And as I search for the safe harbor
I hope one day will be mine
I know that warmth and comfort
Will no longer be measured
By the hands of time
