The Phone Never Rang
Sitting in silence, she begins to wonder
Into depression she slowly slips under
Where is the one who promised to be there
Or has he too forgotten to care
Her head in her hands, she can't be strong
Without him could she really go on?
Just another dream shattered to dust
Everyone tells her to hang on, she must
She wants to call but she knows it's in vain
So she waits by the phone crumbling in pain
Her mind takes her back to a familiar place
One that even his memory can't erase
It's a downward spiral she knows to well
And if she hits bottom, time will tell
She promised herself she wouldn't go there again
She knows she's all alone...the phone never rang
