A Friend You Never Met

A friend you never met:

I have a friend like that,
A friend I've never met.
but she knows more about me
Than anyone on earth, I bet.

She is my e-mail buddy
In fact, she was my first !!
We shared our joys and sorrows together
In a year that has been the worst !!!!

For she has buried her husband
Been through the pain and shock
Of laying a part of yourself into God's Arms
Your mind rebels----there is a block.

That eventually gives way to mourning
As you try to comprehend
How your lover could just leave you
All alone; without a friend.

I have watched her as she traveled
Down this pathway strewn with pain
I have watch her get her bearings
And learn to face her life again.

It's been years since my beloved
Finally succumbed to all his pain
And went Home to be with Jesus
Leaving me to try---in vain

To do what my friend has done
In little over just a year
She has her life in her own two hands
And her place on earth is clear.

Now she works at a new calling,
Sings in choir His Heavenly Song,
Manages her life unfailing
She's at Peace again---and Strong.

Inspired by my e-mail buddy
JEAN
and her faith,
her love,
and her devotion.
