Love Is the "X" On a Treasure MapLove is the "X" on a treasure map, That everyone is privileged to have, But all will search, and few will find, The unseen dotted path. The path that leads to everyone's desire, To have and hold the one they adore, We search and search, and often get lost, In the pursuit for something more. Sometimes we feel we're right on track, That the treasure's just 'round the bend, But then we find, after digging for some time, That we may have found just a friend. And friends are fine, don't get me wrong, Often their the best treasure unearthed, But still we long, for that special bond, With someone of unequaled worth. Someone whose smile enchants our soul, And fills our head with dreams, But often, too often, it falls apart, And the treasure's not quite what it seemed. But when we finally find our loot, Nothing can quite compare, To how lucky we feel when we've found our sweetheart, Indeed true love's a treasure rare. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
