Sleeping Beauty

As I lay and watch you sleep
your manner is calm as ice-cold water
eyes closed while your mind wonders
from thought to thought
imagining your dreams; wondering what they consist of
your soul seems to be at peace
resting your spirit for tomorrow's journey
laying on the sofa underneath your baby blue cover
like a growing baby
eyelids conceal your pupils relaxing your mental
first time at your home and your comfortable enough
around my presence that you can fall into R.E.M (rapid, eye, movement) the deepest stage of sleep
worried about snoring, telling me to stretch while you rest;
but all I can seem to do is admire your aura as you drift further
into your unconscious mind state. your lips look as juicy as a fresh
Georgia peach beauty illuminates from your body
I can vision myself falling asleep laying next to you
but you seem so comfortable I would never dream
of interrupting your slumber so instead I peck your right check
and quietly depart while you sleep
