The Abyss!Thrown out into the street, Treated worse than a dog… Life is the abyss, what do you do? You're lost in the thickening fog. Can't see a way out of the haze, Dignity thrown to the side… Full of sorrow and hurt… You can't run and you can't hide! Desolate, sad, scared and alone, Living on nothing but ale, Addicted, ill, insecure, paranoid, You give up the fight cos you think you'll fail! From one guest house to another, Nothing clean to wear, no food to eat, Trailing around in dirty old clothes, With not even shoes on your feet! Where do you go from here? Dirty, lonely, sad and blue! You want to drink yourself into oblivion, Because you don't know what else to do! You live your life in slums and on the street… Is there no-one there to help you? No solace to be sought, living in fear, Not knowing what you should do! So you drink a little bit more, And you die a little more each day, A blessed release from a saddened plight, For death is all you want - you say! Addiction, no, not just addiction, But an illness that takes a hold of you! Craving what will be your reaper, It feels so surreal not really true! But look, there is an angel waiting, To show you to the light, Leads you back into life, not death! And he gives you back your fight! For if you want to live, Then fight is what you have to do! Never give in, that way you will win, And therein lie's a new life for you! Heartbreaking, I've had a heartbreaking week, I have visions in my head, Of a lonely saddened woman so ill, That she'd much rather be dead! I don't know her, just of her, But that is enough for me… To feel so sad and upset for her, And to wish for her to be free! Will she be given back her strength? And more, has she the will to fight, I hope so, for she has an angel on her side, Helping to guide her into the light! He cares, as others should care, He has fought to do his all, To help her in her time of need, To help prevent that everlasting fall. Heart rendering it is to see and hear… Of such a saddened figure, so forlorn, I hope and pray for her each night and day, For her to awake to a brand new dawn! Will she, can she? I hope so, I really do hope so! Pray For Her, As I Pray. |
