The One I Turn To - Inspirational Writings & Poetry of Julie Pisacane
A Knock At The Door
Someone is knocking at the door.
I'm not really ready for company.
Will they leave if I just ignore…
knocks that have now become many.
I peek through the side window shade.
A stranger is there, still waiting.
I find myself a little afraid.
Yet, the visit may prove innovating.
I opened the door and asked him in.
He is tired and weary as can be.
I feed him well as he seems quite thin.
He is now smiling and thankful to me.
He looks at me before he goes.
His eyes are soothing to my soul.
The door is now beginning to close.
Suddenly I feel spiritually whole.
A pleasant surprise came knocking today!
How lucky the visit was not rejected.
I will tell of the Angel that came my way
And tell others, prepare for the unexpected.
Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers:
for thereby some have entertained angels unawares
