Once Upon A Time......Don't all stories start that way? Well, there was a "Once Upon A Time" for me.... in my younger days, those wonderful, naive, often bitterly sweet younger days. And I thought that all my memories of that time were intact......until.........
After a series of strokes, that left me with some weakness, and a brain that resembles "Swiss-cheese", whole segments of my memory were effected. I forgot things.... like My Only Daughter's Birthday......(had to be reminded until I relearned it)...... family names... and happenings......lot's of Lost Happenings.
Since being on line, one friend in particular has helped me ......
And I value that person much more than I can ever convey.........
Bringing back old memories isn't the easiest of chores...........
You just might get hurt along the way.
Remembering Memories
Large segments of time are missing........
Feelings gone can never be explored......
But another's memory can be so appealing
That you try not to have your feelings ignored.
To give Truth in the midst of that longing.....
To be Honest no matter the pain........
To Share, when the thought of that giving
May bring you trouble, without any gain........
To admit that your feelings have changed you,
To deal with the inevitable loss,
To give, till there is just no more you can do
To help your friend bare that "unbearable cross".
Yes, my friend has done all that giving !!!
And their help has brought back to me....
Some of those memories....well worth reliving....
And made me the person I was "meant" to be.
