Where Silver Tears Do Rust

The Coyote

The coyote drudges in the darkness of night
Preying upon the injured, the weak
He'll devour the bodies that souls left behind
To satisfy hunger is all that he seeks.

The coyote lays in wait 'neath the moon
He howls for the others to hear
To announce that the death of his newly found prey
Draws yet ever near.

The coyote courts his victim
In malicious, maniacal play
Then with razor sharp teeth and hot, steamy breath
He steals their life blood away.

The coyote is man; a beast none the less
At peace 'neath the afternoon sun
Beware the coyote when the sun does go down
Don't let him catch you alone.

He'll tease you and taunt you
'Till your heart's beating fast
'Till sweat, it does drip from your brow
He'll then unveil his motive to quench his desire
You've become his next meal now.

The coyote drudges in the darkness of night
Preying upon the injured, the weak
He'll devour the spirits of women he mauls
Then from their heart's blood, he'll drink.

Beware the coyote when the sun does go down
Don't let him into your heart
For he'll devour your spirit
Drink your heart's blood
Then just as quick, he'll depart...
