Are...?

Are the trees as green as they used to be…?
Are their leaves still strong with life?
Are the roots that grow still searching for…
A home that’s safe at night?
Do the birds that sing the morning song…
And build their nests for springtime’s fest,
Build their homes in trees of green…
For their young ones to find rest?
Is the air we breathe as it used to be…?
Is the air we breathe… so clean?
I sit and look at the trees laid bare…
… For all that could have been??

Are...?
