The Rocking Chair

A little girl
sits in front of
her bedroom window,
she silently sits
in her rocking chair.

The night breeze
blows through the open window,
the curtains sway
back and forth
in the wind.

The rocking chair creaks
from the back and forth motion,
the little girl's heart
is saddened by the
loss of her parents.

She silently sits
in the rocking chair
to help ease her pain,
it reminds her of
being rocked in
her mother's arms
every night before bed.

The little girl
sits in front of
her bedroom window,
she sits silently
in her rocking chair,
as the tears gently
roll down her
rosy red cheeks.
