The Frog Prince
(One for love....one for smiles)
I sat upon the rolling grass
Peering into my reflection in the water
Hoping to find some inner peace
Amidst the splashes of the otters
My gaze brought me to a lily pad
With its flower of silken white
Watching its dance upon the ripples
A treat to my eyes of sheer delight
I came to cast away my sorrows
Among hollow reed and driftwood log
A hint of something detered such thought
It was the call of a tiny frog
This frog was looking for a mate
As he sounded then his song
As I stared at his tiny shape
I noticed something then was wrong
So I reached for him and bestowed then
The softest kiss from my sweet lips
Knowing not that upon that day
That lone frog turned into my sweet prince

Froggy Went A Courtin'
