Climb the highest mountain, punch the face of god
Just sitting here thinking about some things
1.
The bank don't open till nine so
I sit here, head in my hands
And wonder if I'll run out of gas
Before or after I hit the bank.
2.
Even in my mind, the voices
Are laughing at me, telling me
That I'll fail or that life has already failed for me,
And yes I am listening to them intently.
3.
I shouldn't have too much to say
For the raven has already said it for me.
Danger, trickery, I care not for these things,
But only for a soft pillow in which to lay my head.
4.
When I think about death now,
I think about the sky and how
We all are foolish enough to believe that heaven
Is somewhere up there when heaven
Can be found somewhere down here.
