Resting Place
Resting Place
Lord, take me into thy presences, far from this place,
Take to where I can clearly see thy face,
Far away where I no longer see myself,
Far away were I can see no one else.
Lord, lift me beyond the flesh of men,
Take me past all my earthly sin,
Far away from here I desire to be,
Where my eyes can only look upon Thee.
Lord, bring me past the long restless state,
Carry me in thy arms to my true fate,
When I can no longer take it anymore,
Let me lean upon thee for ever more.
Lord, sweep me up into thy mighty hands,
Releasing my shackles and my bands.
Take me where I can close my eyes,
Take where my soul never dies.
Lord, my soul needs to breath and take a rest,
Only one place I desire is upon thy chest,
I know here I will draw strength to carry on,
For being with you makes us one.
