A Real Smile

A Real Smile

I saw you today for the first time in awhile,
I was cursious to know about your smile,
Was it because you had been saved by grace?
What was this smile all upon your face?

Was it all genuine, was it for real?
Or was it a cover up masking how you really feel?
You talked about friends and your new family,
I wondered if you ever thought about eternity?

We caught each other up on what has be going on,
We talk until it was almost dawn,
Your not a child anymore this I saw,
And I was not disappointed by your call.

Seeing you was like looking in a mirror glass,
Remembering many hurts from my own past,
We walked away with a hug or two,
I said three words and you said I love you too.

Everyone has regrets of their mistake,
Maybe another road they wished they would of take,
I only know you have to walk your own mile,
May your pain be replace one day with a real smile.
