Open Arms by Mayfair

With open arms I wait for you,

Accepting of all that you are.

Time and love heals all wounds,

And mends a heart so charred.

So know that I'm here,

With a love that knows your heart.

Awaiting you with open arms,

And all that they impart.

Mayfair/2003

I recline on my porch swing,
feather pillow beneath my head
pondering what you told me...

"Good things come to those who wait."

My body is restless, sunshine
between my long legs, hands
twirling strands of hair,
but the new green leaves
in the Spring trees full
of feathered life whisper
to my impatient heart,
showing me the way.

The breeze rocks me like
a child in a mother's arms
and I know peace.

My heart calls to yours
and will keep calling gently
until you are ready, whole,
able to answer with abandon,
"I love you too. I am ready
for your insatiable heart"...

Nature confides in me,
my soul whispers to
the pure white clouds.
The birds sing an answer
as I lounge in the sun...

He will come to you.
Just keep showing him
your pure heart, your
genuine love.
