 Penniluck's legacy

Perfect Baby

Oh such a beautiful baby I made
So perfect was she that I felt afraid.
I counted each finger and every toe
All mothers do this I`m sure you will know.

The first word she said was Mama for me
I wondered often what she would be.
I smiled triumphant, she took her first step
She started school and my how she wept.

Teen years came quickly, shapely so soon
The hint of a woman walked into the room
Then she had children, two boys and a lass
Taking her place now in our mothers` class.

Sadness and sorrow did not pass her by
If only I`d known then, she never would cry.
Still now she`s happy, a love of her own
I feel at peace now she won`t be alone.

Today my sweet baby is thirty years old
Memories she gave me more precious than gold.
To me she will always remain just the same
My child, my wean, my own precious bairn.
