Phoenix Rising

(Inspired by my best friend)

Amidst the resplendent flames of yesterday
A majestic creature waits there~in
A paragon of excellence and beauty
Lying dormant until such freedom begins

Taking leave within self sacrifice
Until life and love lay recompensed
This creature dwells in its anguish
Until the days its dues are spent

When those flames are but an ember
Smouldering pain waning into ash
This creature will shake its wings in glory
Ridding itself of torments past

Born anew to reclaim its glory
Know this creature shall not be denied
Through the sorrowed ash of yesterday...
We watch the phoenix rise

For some life lasts a short while,

but the memories we hold of them lasts forever.
